DRIVEConn® MT - OCT HYBRID SERVO

In machine tools, OCT (One Cable Technology) solutions are increasingly widespread. The single cable solution means that instead of the classic servo cable for power supply and the signal cable for position information, transmission and signal are integrated into a single cable. The starting condition for using a single cable solution between the servomotor and the controller is the use of an encoder based on hardware designed for this purpose. Since the encoder is permanently connected to the servomotor, the servomotor manufacturer must make this system available to the end customer. MotionCables began with developing its OCT solutions by collaborating with SICK® and creating a cable for the HIPERFACE® DSL system which was then approved and qualified by SICK® which certified MotionCables as an authorized manufacturer. Drawing on this experience, MotionCables has developed a version compatible with the Heidenhain® HMC 6® Full Digital system based on the EnDat 2.2 protocol. and the analogue for B&R®. Both solutions have been tested in our laboratories and their versions (fixed installation, mobile, high performance) operated up to ten million cycles. Regarding the HIPERFACE® DSL cable, MotionCables has also developed a new version with a double screen, even more performing in terms of data transmission quality and with a high protection factor against interference up to 4.5 kV @ 10 MHz.
